Welcome to Census Books. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (TOS). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
These TOS govern your use of Census Books, including all features, tools, and services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Census Books. By submitting content, you affirm that you meet this requirement.
You retain full ownership of any content you upload to Census Books. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that you have the right to do so and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
All content submitted must reflect the mission and values of Census Books, which include promoting hope, integrity, truth, creativity, and positive impact in the world. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to reject, remove, or refuse publication of any content that we determine conflicts with these principles, undermines our ethos, or is otherwise harmful to our community, even if it is otherwise legal.
You may not upload content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, abusive, or harmful. In addition, content that conflicts with the mission and values outlined above is prohibited. Census Books reserves the right to remove such content and suspend or terminate accounts as necessary.
All submissions are subject to review by Census Books. Publication on the platform does not imply endorsement of the content by Census Books. We strive to provide a supportive environment for authors, ensuring that all work on the platform uplifts, inspires, and contributes positively to readers and the broader community.
Census Books acts solely as a service provider and distribution facilitator and is not the publisher of record for any works submitted by authors. All intellectual property rights and publishing rights remain fully with the author. When we receive payments or royalties from third-party retailers or platforms, we do so as the author's authorised agent for the purpose of forwarding those funds. Any monies received on your behalf are held for remittance to you and do not constitute revenue of Census Books, except for the agreed service fees.
Royalties and Retailer Deductions
When your work is distributed to third‐party retailers (such as online bookshops, eBook platforms, etc.), those retailers apply their own standard royalty splits and fees prior to remitting amounts to Census Books. You will receive the net amount after those retailer deductions. Our statement will show the amount received from each retailer and the royalty passed on to you. Our service fee is only the upfront package fee (or other agreed fee) and we do not take any additional commission on your royalties. You agree that we act as your authorised distributor/agent for the purpose of facilitating payments to you, and we will remit to you 100% of the amounts we receive from the retailers, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
All materials provided by Census Books, including logos, design, and text, are our property or used with permission. You may not reproduce or distribute our intellectual property without written consent.
Your use of Census Books is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your personal information.
Census Books is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Census Books from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content or breach of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
